A Little History

To be in a farmhouse is an incredible experience. You immediately have a sense of place -- and a feeling of coming
home. Our perenniel gardens show their colors from June through September. Fireflies light up the dark on June evenings.
There is incredible star watching, especially in August. The swing we put up years ago is still there - although the
tree seems to have grown so young children may need a lift to get onto it. If you hike the property you'll find remenants
of farm tractors and hay balers on the edges of the fields where they broke down, or old stone sheep walls in overgrown
pastures.

The house seems to expand when large groups come for a get-away or reunion. Half the group is outside
locked in a fierce battle to see who can be badminton champion of the weekend or clock the fastest time on the sledding run. A quite soul works through
last weeks Sunday Times crossword puzzle in the cool shade of the porch, while the chefs happily prepare something
amazing in the gourmet kitchen.

The farm also makes for a peaceful retreat for smaller groups and even a couple. There's nothing better than
putting on your favorite music, picking up a great book, and reading in the two armchairs in front of the woodstove.
If we're not booked the week before your get-away - please call us to discuss rates for smaller groups.
The nearby towns of southeastern Delaware County provide the necessities and flourishes of
country life. Auctions, flea markets, farm stands, fairs and festivals,
art galleries and performance halls provide a constant source of activity and diversion.
Yet, even with all these things to do, we find most people simply like to relax and enjoy their time here. We have
many guests who return year after year, and say they are spoiled by our lovely house and grounds. We hope you'll
visit and find that same feeling for yourselves. We love well behaved dogs to visit too!
